City office-hopefuls support rent hike protest at City Hall

By Michael Martin Democratic mayoral candidate Bill Thompson and a pantheon of city office-hopefuls descended on the steps of City Hall to join New York City tenant advocacy groups to protest rent hikes on rent-stabilized apartments last Thursday. The Real Rent Reform Campaign organized the demonstration in response to the NYC Rent Guidelines Board’s decision to increase rents by 3 and 6 percent for one and two-year lease renewals respectively.
